About
"The obstacle is the way." — Marcus Aurelius
I'm a developer based in San Diego building web applications that solve real problems for real people. I got here the long way around.
I studied Computer Science from 2012 to 2020. During that time I struggled to build anything meaningful outside of coursework. Nothing I could make felt useful enough to actually pursue, and the motivation wasn't there. After graduating, I stepped away from development for a few years. Not because I gave up on it, but because I needed to live and grow first.
In 2024 I started building again. Instead of waiting for someone to hand me direction or tools, I just started solving a problem I could see. A food ordering system for the hospital staff I worked with. I iterated on it at least six times before deploying, rebuilding it from scratch each time to fully understand what I was doing and why. For the first time, I was making something for real users, solving a real problem. By early 2026 it had more than 50 active users.
AI tooling, Claude Code especially, accelerated that process. Not by writing code for me, but by making problems less intimidating. What used to take hours of tracing code line by line, I could now break down and understand quickly. It gave me the confidence to push through projects and actually finish them.
Now I'm building on that momentum. This portfolio, the projects in it, they're the start of putting my CS education to work the way I always wanted to. I'm sharpening my skills and looking for the right opportunity to grow further as a developer.
